bonsai

Years ago, finding oak tree seedlings in the parental garden at BraeHeid, Iistarted my wondrous journey of the joys of growing and nurturing bonsai.

From an initial seedling my first bonsai oak (now 32 years old) flourished. Here it is, left, standing from base of pot to top of tree at 90icm / 2´9´´. After a few years it produced an acorn which I planted and was happy to welcome aithird generation of the magnificent mother tree, see above right.

Perpetually searching for potential seedlings, I found some of Acer palmatum—the Japanese Maple—in my bro’s garden. These I planted and after years of care, this is the resulting bonsai, below.
